Their role is to oversee the work of the school and ensure that pupils are getting the best possible education experience that they can. They play a critical friend role to the Senior Leaders, challenging them to ensure the best outcomes for pupils are being achieved, but also supporting them and the school, and being part of The Keystone Academy community.

YES Trust Governor/Trustee Application Form

Our Governors:

Belinda Logan – Interim Chair

Ali Bellaby – Headteacher

Steven Gray – Staff Governor

My name is Steven Gray, and it is my pleasure to be the Staff Governor at the Keystone Academy. I have been a teacher for 10 years and my primary role is teaching Mathematics, ICT and Outdoor Studies across Key Stage 2 and 3. I am really looking forward to helping teach and develop the skills of our children at Keystone and hope to bring my passion for teaching into the role of staff Governor. I am very privileged to represent the amazing staff here at Keystone and look forward to help the school progress into the new building at Bowbrook.

Georgia Smith – Co-opted Governor and Looked After Children Link

I have been living and working in Shropshire for almost 30 years but hail originally from Merseyside. My background is in secondary school teaching – English and History, having been a head of department and pastoral lead along the way.  My career progression has been into school behaviour management and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and I have studied post graduate qualifications in both areas via Birmingham University and Edge Hill University.  I am a qualified and experienced SENCO. I am currently a Specialist Teacher with Shropshire Virtual School, and part of my role is to support our children-in-care cohort to work toward excellent learning outcomes. In addition, I support schools and early years providers to offer the additional nurture, adjustments and adaptations that our children often need in order to repair and rebuild their confidence, trust and self-esteem whilst being supported to reach their academic potential. I am very excited to be part of the Keystone Academy governor team and am very much looking forward to assisting in some way, toward the ongoing development and expansion of the school.

Boyd Robinson – Parent Governor and Finance and Buildings Link

I am an accountant working in Telford for a financial services company. I was previously a Governor for six years at St Lucia’s Primary School in Upton Magna.

In my spare time I enjoy walking, watching my children’s sport activities and supporting my football team, Brighton.

Mike Dyer – Co-opted Governor and KS4 / Post 16 / Careers Link

I am the joint Managing Director and Co-founder of The Inspirational Learning Group, a company that has worked with over 500,000 students nationwide on their National Careers Challenge. We work with UK companies who set secondary school students business challenges and compete on a national scale at their finale events at iconic venues such as Wembley Stadium and more locally at the Telford International Centre. Through the challenge I have worked with brands such as Ryman, Natwest, Alton Towers and Airbus. My passion for entrepreneurship has given me the opportunity to take up the role of a judge for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and I have also mentored a plethora of start-up businesses in the Shropshire and Staffordshire area. I want to use my business leadership and event management skills to help prepare the students at Keystone for the world of work by helping with Careers, KS4 and Post-16 links.

Sadie Howson – Co-opted Governor

Caroline Bulmer – Co-opted Governor

I am a qualified teacher and Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with autistic children and young people in a range of education, respite and residential settings. I have specialist training and experience in areas such as safeguarding and SEND tribunals. In my current role, I manage the Therapies and Family Support Team for a multi-academy trust of autism specific special schools, resource bases and FE settings. Outside of work I enjoy yoga, poi spinning, dance, camping and time in nature.

I applied to join the LSB for Keystone Academy as I can see that the school’s ethos and practice is very much aligned with my own. I look forward to working alongside and learning from key stakeholders at the school and being able to contribute and share from my experience.
